Manila Mart serves not only as a filipino grocery store, but also as a unique Filipino turo-turo (“point-point”) cafe. "Turo-turo" in Tagalog means "point-point" and describes the type of food service.  A large selection of food is put on display that you can choose from, but the choice of dishes varies from day to day.  This way of serving food is a popular concept in the Philippines.  We pride ourselves on fast service, but don’t cut corners when it comes to serving you quality food.  Some food items run out fast, so be sure to call us to reserve your favorite menu items today! Daily menu items are subject to change due to market availability.

The Owners

The Owners

Antonio Bioc

Antonio Bioc was born in Rosario Cavite.  When he moved to Maryland during the recession, he and his wife decided to start a business, as he couldn't find a job like his previous as a mailer. The original site of the store was strategically selected because it was close to his kid's school, with the plan that he could take care of the children when his wife had work as a night shift nurse. 20 years later, the store expanded to what it is now, with a kitchen serving authentic Filipino food and a catering service. Soon, they hope to expand to have a sit-down restaurant, separate from the grocery store.

Emma Bioc

Emma Bioc was born in Malolos Bulacan. She was exposed to the restaurant business from an early age, as her parents owned a Chinese restaurant in the Phillippines in the 1950s. When she graduated from nursing school and moved to the United States, she started to learn to cook. It was her longing to start a restaurant like her parents. When she was married in 1990 and her husband lost his job, she asked him, "why don't we start a business?" Together, they started a grocery store where she cooked and sold food on the side. Since retiring from nursing, she has enjoyed spending more time doing what she loves-- cooking at Manila Mart!

Toni-Rose Bioc

Toni-Rose was born and raised in Maryland.  She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in May 2015.  Growing up, she was always involved with the family business, but since graduating she has transitioned to take on a bigger role in managing Manila Mart. She looks forward to seeing what the future hold for the business and is excited to continue the legacy her parents have worked hard to create.
